I told the players before the game, I said, "History's great, but what's more fun is writing history," We got to write some history today, which is awesome. And they showed out of hand. Cascade football completes undefeated season with Class 4A title game rout of Henley
35+ min ago (864+ words) For the first time in a decade, the Cascade football team is bringing home the blue trophy thanks to a dominant performance in Saturday's Class 4A state championship game at Cottage Grove High School. The Cougars completed an undefeated season with a 52-0 rout of Henley to win the program's first championship since 2015 and third all-time. The victory avenged an overtime loss to the Hornets in last year's semifinals " the third year in a row that Henley beat Cascade " and marked the Cougars' first win over the Klamath Falls school in five all-time matchups. It also denied Henley a third all-time championship in its third consecutive trip to the final. The Hornets previously won titles in 1982 and 2023. Senior Matthew Hinkle made his presence felt on both sides of the ball for Cascade (13-0), running for one score and catching two passes for 91 yards…...
Oregon receiver makes amazing 1-handed catch (though it’s ruled incomplete)
1+ hour, 32+ min ago (191+ words) Oregon Ducks receiver Jeremiah McClellan hauled in two long catches on Saturday and finished the day with three receptions for 78 yards. But it was a catch that wasn't recorded as a reception that might have been McClellan's most memorable grab in Oregon's 26-14 road victory against Washington. Ducks quarterback Dante Moore targeted McClellan on the first play of the fourth quarter, lofting a pass down the right sideline as McClellan faced one-on-one coverage against Huskies cornerback Dylan Robinson. Still, it was an amazing grab by McClellan. CBS analyst Gary Danielson certainly was impressed. "I'm going to call that the best non-catch I've ever seen," Danielson said on the CBS broadcast. McClellan's other catches on the day went for 35, 2 and 41 yards. The Ducks had a big day through the air overall, with Moore going 20 of 29 for 286 yards and a touchdown. Malik Benson…...
Oregon’s Dan Lanning matches coaching record of another successful Ducks coach
2+ hour, 1+ min ago (205+ words) No. 6 Oregon Ducks vs. Washington Huskies: Nov. 29, 2025 The sixth-ranked Oregon Ducks notched an important victory over the rival Washington Huskies on Saturday. Oregon's 26-14 win in Seattle marked the Ducks' 12th consecutive road victory and probably ensured that Oregon (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) will get to play a home game in the College Football Playoff. But the win also moved UO coach Dan Lanning into a tie with the head coaching record of another successful Ducks coach: Chip Kelly. Kelly had an all-time win-loss mark at Oregon of 46-7 during a head coaching tenure spanning from 2009-12. And Lanning now owns exactly the same record at Oregon after he earned his second win in five tries against the Huskies (8-4, 5-4). Kelly led Oregon to four BCS bowl appearances, including a national championship game. Lanning led the Ducks to a Holiday Bowl victory in 2022, a Fiesta Bowl win…...

Lost River shocks red-hot Heppner in Class 2A football state title game
3+ hour, 1+ min ago (496+ words) Saturday was a day for revenge for the Lost River football team. With memories of a lopsided September loss still in their heads, the Raiders were able to battle to a 24-22 victory against previously unbeaten Heppner at Summit High School in the Class 2A state championship football game. Lost River was able to figure out how to succeed against Heppner in a way no one else has this fall. The Mustangs have been scoring 52 points per game this fall while allowing just six. This was the second game of the year for the two teams. Heppner won the first meeting 43-8. The Raiders jumped out to an early lead. After Heppner failed to gain a first down on the game-opening drive, Lost River turned around to an eight-play drive that ended with Drew McDonald finding Kyle Diaz down the middle for a…...

3+ hour, 48+ min ago (418+ words) A sluggish start on offense doomed the Oregon State women's basketball team Saturday, as the Beavers lost 78-67 to Virginia Tech at the Paradise Jam Tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Oregon State (5-3) trailed 26-14 after the first quarter and 55-35 midway through the third quarter. The Beavers nearly made up the entire deficit, pulling to within three points with 7:26 remaining.
