In a season marred by special teams errors, Oregon State’s punter made this gutsy play
1+ hour, 24+ min ago (553+ words) At the tail end of a 2025 season overflowing with special teams blunders, the Beavers allowed 169 punt return yards in a 32-8 loss to Washington State. One of those returns deep into OSU territory ended inexplicably: Winsor made the tackle along the sideline, and forced a fumble by WSU's Tony Freeman in the process. The ensuing recovery by Zander Esty was OSU's first fumble recovery all season. In any phase. "Dude, I was just trying to force him out of bounds," Winsor said with a laugh. "I had no intentions of breaking the ball loose, but it worked. I was just trying to force him out of bounds, he cut back inside, and I just grabbed on. Apparently, I got enough of his arm to rip the ball loose." Winsor revved the turnover chainsaw when he got to the OSU sideline. It…...

1+ hour, 59+ min ago (699+ words) PULLMAN, Wash. " Tears ran down Trey Glasper's face. Tristan Ti'a embraced Robb Akey, the young quarterback's shoulders shaking as the 59-year-old interim coach imparted words of encouragement. A visibly emotional Trent Walker had to be held up by an assistant coach as he walked down the stairs to the Oregon State locker room, perhaps for the final time. Aiden Sullivan had his hood up, pacing in frustration. It all stemmed from what happened on the field Saturday, a 32-8 loss to Washington State. But a well of emotion had been building throughout a confounding, embarrassing, remarkably bad 2025 season for the Beavers as they finished 2-10. "If it wasn't for the kids," Akey said in a dark hallway outside the locker room. "I'd tell you it was miserable." The 2025 season featured botched snaps, blown assignments, injuries, arrests, fired coaches and a flood of…...
