They were married on November 7, 1964. Roe and John spent the next 50 beautiful years together until her passing in 2015. They enjoyed traveling to Bonita Springs, Florida. Before retirement in 2001, John worked in management positions. He was also a proprietor of Carl's Newsroom from 1966-1969 and Collins Sport Shop from 1977-1989. In later years, John volunteered at Temple School in Kennedy, which he enjoyed immensely. John's love for baseball drew him to the Jamestown Babe Ruth League for 23 years, where he was first a manager, then board member and president for one year.
